Templeton Hall

     Templeton Hall is a banquet and catering facility located in the center of enchanting Cooperstown, NY. Templeton Hall itself is an historic building constructed in 1832, having served during its long history as a church, community center, ladies’ dress shop and antiques store. Templeton Hall’s convenient location is around the corner from the National Baseball Hall of Fame, within walking distance of most lodging,  convenient to the trolley stop, and is handicapped accessible. 

     Full service at Templeton includes dining space for up to 120 guests with food and beverage services by L. M. Townsend Catering.  The balcony overlooking our banquet room is wired with outlets for live or recorded music of your choice, with an upright piano available. The gable end wall is a great facade for movies, slide shows or Powerpoint presentations.  A full range of audio visual services are offered as well, from wireless microphones and P.A. systems to plasma TVs. Additionally, tables, chairs, glassware, silverware and china are all included in the facilities usage fee for your event.

     Templeton is the perfect choice for a wedding reception as it is just a short walk from four churches. Many wedding couples choose to hold both the ceremony and reception at Templeton. We are happy to assist in planning your entire day. In keeping with the building's original history, the Hall can be set up to serve solely as a venue for a wedding service of a denomination. 

     If you are searching for a site for your rehearsal dinner, engagement party or bridal shower, Templeton Hall is the ideal option.  Businesses will find that we are the perfect size and location for conferences. Facility Usage Fees 

     Included in our fees are the exclusive use of Templeton Hall, tables, chairs, china, silverware and glassware. Any specialty items not owned by Templeton must be rented at the Host's expense.  All equipment for events is provided with the full facility rental fee.  Linen owned by Templeton Hall is included for Friday and Saturday evening rental only. Choices include terra cotta, moss green, periwinkle blue or chocolate brown, all with white toppers and coordinating napkins. There is a small surcharge for linen cleaning on other days, or ivory vinyl table covers are available at no charge. Linen is available in any other color, with a wide variety of fabrics and patterns available (rental fee charged to Host.) Additional items may be rented such as audio-visual equipment, specialty chairs or china, or specialty linen. 

     We are open year-round so please do not hesitate to inquire about services for winter-time events.  Local non-profit organizations and community groups may be considered for reduced facility charges .

Sunday - Thursday Daytime: $250
Sunday - Thursday Evening: $500
Friday Daytime:  $500
Friday Evening: $1,000
Saturday Daytime: $1,000
Saturday Evening:  $1,500

Saturday daytime wedding receptions must end by 3:00 PM.

All music or amplified sound for evening events must end by 10:00 PM Sunday-Thursday and 11:00 PM Fridays and Saturdays.
